The weekend is about to start, the sun is shining and there’s excitement in the office because we have a big, big announcement to make later today.

This might become a new regular feature or we might only have enough content for this singular entry. Either way here is this week’s Friday Fun feature, which you will noticed is categorised under ‘Fun’, so is guaranteed to be enjoyable. If you don’t have fun there is clearly something wrong with your joy glands and need urgent medical attention.
When people play B-Boy Brawl they always say to us “B-Boy Brawl is, like, amazing.” And we say to them: “Phh… Yeah, hello… It’s, like, the best!” Then they’re all like “so, where did you get the idea” and we go “like, a video on YouTube and stuff”.
And in light of it being an amazing, but tough, week in The Oven here is that very YouTube video:

Things have been getting very hot in The Oven (don’t call it Pie Towers, lest ye be scathed) and we’re baking up some delicious and nutritious treats for you all. We’ve been forging ahead with B-Boy Brawl, giving the gameplay a massive overhaul and sorting out some dope beats (oh yeah, we know the lingo) and I can tell you it’s going to be absolutely bad (meaning good).
But, having one inevitable iPhone smash hit on our hands isn’t enough for Mobile Pie. With pixel maestro Tommy T (Thomas Parry to his mother) rocking the mouse we’ve set about on a new project, currently in production as Angry Mob.
I’m sure it’s a familiar scenario for us all: You return to your tatty hovel after a hard day on the farm only to find the village has been overrun with monsters / witches / ungodly heathens. It’s one of life’s little irritations, right? Well, grab your pitchfork peasant, because now you and your unrully mob can drive them monsters out! Well, once we’ve finished making the game.
We’ll follow up in the next week or so with some flashy screenshots, but in the mean time fill your eyeballs with this tasty arrangement of pixels…

Two fingers to other rhythm games: B-Boy Brawl in action
So, this is not really news any more as we’ve been so busy actually making this game that we haven’t had the chance to tell you all about it – sorry! Last week we let the kindly people at PocketGamer.co.uk in to our offices to have a sneaky peak. You can see the nice things they have to say here.
When I was younger, I had a dream. That dream was to be brilliant at break dancing. See, break dancing is cool, and when I was younger…well, let’s just say I wasn’t cool. Now that I’ve done all of the growing up I’ll ever do and I am the creative producer here at MP I want all of you to be and feel cool. More cool than you obviously already are. So that’s why we set about making B-Boy Brawl: Breakin’ Fingers.
BBB is all about break dancing, but done with your fingers. You get all the funky feeling of breaking without the inevitable bruising, broken limbs and tears.
It works very differently to other rhythm games. Instead of having to tap dots as they appear *yawn* you’re taught moves, including such classics as the moon walk, which you gotta bust from memory (well, there are a few handy onscreen hints) in time to a soundtrack of up and coming hip hop stars. And what’s more funky fresh finger b-boy Crazy Tipz is always on hand to point you in the right direction.
That’s about all I can say for now. We’ll keep you up on the LD – that’s the low-down for those of you not au fait with the nomenclature of hip hop – in the coming months. Sorry there isn’t more I can show or tell you, but let me leave you with this – B-Boy Brawl is going to be too cool for school.
