We’re hiring: Part Time Office Manager

We’re looking for someone to manage our office. Mobile Pie is a games development studio with 10 employees (and growing!) and we’d like to keep everyone concentrating on making games as much as possible. Can you be the metaphorical oil to our cogs?

The office manager will work 2 hours a day Monday-Friday (overtime may be available) and help everyone by taking care of standard office duties such as:

  • Answering the phone
  • Recording accounts
  • Booking travel and accommodation for external events
  • Occasionally organising internal events
  • Organising and ordering equipment, books and stationary
  • Miscellaneous secretarial and HR duties

In addition, we would like the office manager to take on some more specific tasks surrounding our industry, including:

  • Keeping track of Mobile Pie press, game reviews and user reviews
  • Entering Mobile Pie games into competitions

Salary will be £8.50 per hour.

We’re Hiring : Developer

We’ve got a lot of work to do and need some help making all the fun things that we make.

Specifically we need a new Developer that can hit the ground running, working both individually or as part of the existing development team on games projects that meet client expectation or realise the company’s visions. Taking direction from the project manager, they must be able to rapidly prototype game concepts and be able to produce work for publication to a high level of stability and polish.

Key skills:

  • Some or all of the following programming languages: Objective-C, Java, C++
  • Experience in the cloud side of cloud computing a bonus
  • Ability to produce robust, well documented code
  • Research new technologies and libraries for upcoming projects
  • A clear, analytical thinker
  • Passion for and knowledge of games and the industry

Experience:

We’re going to want to see at least one of the below:

  • Bachelors or equivalent Computer Science or programming related degree
  • 1 year application development with some or all of the following platforms: iPhone, Android, Blackberry
  • Games development experience (hobby projects / unreleased games are fine – we just want something to see)

We’re Hiring: Production Assistant

Here in The Oven it’s heating up and we’re in need of someone to help run our many projects. That person will be our new Production Assistant – a master of many trades, confidently swapping between tester, producer and designer.

They will work alongside creative and technical project leads to ensure projects stay on track and within budget, creating Agile project backlogs, assisting stand-ups and evolving and implementing new process. The Production Assistant will be a key organiser of own-IP and for-client projects.

They’ll also lead the QA process: Training testers, writing test plans and managing the QA team, as well as getting heavily involved with hands-on day-to-day testing.

The Production Assistant may also assist with design and specification documentation, community management, the outsourcing process and other miscellaneous administration tasks, such as tracking hardware or booking event tickets.

  • Ability to be on top of multiple projects
  • Outstanding self-motivation and time management
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • A clear, analytical thinker
  • A can-do attitude
  • Passion for and knowledge of games and the industry

Experience

  • Two years as lead QA / assistant producer role in entertainment software
